ABOUT THE CITY OF LONDON LADIES CIRCLE!
We charted in April 2003 and have since been a force for good all over London.
Our focus is on socialising and fund-raising. Each year we organise various
events which may be mostly social or fund-raising or a healthy mix of the two.
The social events are scheduled once a month and organised by one of members.
The fund-raising events may be organised by charities we support or organised
by us. For example, we help out with the Cancer Research UK Race for Life
events all over London and we orgainise our own Think Pink fund-raiser each
year to raise money for them too. Our social events can take any form thought
up by our willing members. It ranges from wall-climbing to dinner and jazz at
National Gallery.
SITTING COUNCIL
Chairwoman - Heulwen Evans

I am Heulwen or "H" and am a founder member of City of London Ladies Circle. I
work for HSBC in the city as an IT Manager - not very exciting I can assure
you!! Though quite the opposite can e said about being a member of this
wonderful International association.
Circle first came into my life in 1992, when I lived in Wales. My then husband
became a member of Round Table (not sure how) and I was asked to join the
"other halves" for a night out and I have not looked back since. My first night
as a fully fledged member, will stay with me forever. A lovely meal followed by
entertainment by The Chubbindales!! aka the lads from Round Table. Once I had
got over the shock of being introduced to Marvellous Mike, Knobby Neil,
Delicious Dave and irrestible Ian, it was down to some seriuous drinking and
talk of what were going to do that year in the name of fun, friendship and
community spirit.
So to maning the food stall at the local fireworks to raise money for local
childrens homes, to selling water bombs and flour bombs at the annual regetta,
to abseiling down rock faces and skippering a raft down the river mawddach. I
was hooked. I ventured further a field to meet other circlers and even went to
my first Natl confernce at Blackpool, where dressed as Snow White (the theme of
the night being a night at the movies) I made many friends who are still very
good friends today and who all have one thing in common friendship and
community service.

Vice-Chairwoman (and Secretary) - Vicki Sales
I joined circle when I moved to Weymouth. I didn't know anyone and I
wanted to make some friends. I stayed in Weymouth for three years and
during that time I made plenty. Circle has given me new
experiences. We went on an adventure weekend doing abseiling, rafting and
zip sliding. I've learnt about committees, organising meetings and
functions for over a hundred people. There's been plenty of
occasions to dress up for balls or down for helping out at particular
charity events.
In my role as the secretary I take the minutes of the meetings. We have an
average of four each year including the AGM. I keep the members list up
to date and deal with any correspondence.

Treasurer - Marissa Newbold
My name is Marissa Lehimas and I am the Treasurer for City of London Ladies
Circle, which involves keeping the books up to date and collecting the subs . I
like being in Circle as I get to try different things such as Wall climbing,
which proved how unfit I was, to going to a summer ball on the HMS Belfast. I
have also organised wine tasting events which were very successful. Also,
through circle I have made friends, who can call me and torment me as much as
they like - Susan you know who you are!! My normal job is a Support Analyst in
IT for a bank based in the City. My bust size is .... Oh its not hat sort of
description. My favourite hobbies are Hot Air Ballooning, going to the theatre,
shopping and drinking red wine, white wine, champagne, and a few spirits, but
only on social occasions. My ambition is to improve my swimming and get fit for
my 30th birthday, where I will be going skiing, and hopefully wont break a leg.

Social Secretary - Anna-Sophie Ploughman
My name is Anna-Sofie Plougmand Mikkelsen, age 29. I have been a Lady Circler
for three years soon. My first two years were in Denmark, which is my homecountry,
when I moved to London I joined the Lady Circle here. That is one of the
brilliant things about Lady Circle, everywhere in the world you go there
are friends right around the corner, and the more you join in and put in, the
more you get back - it is all about friendship and fun.
My roll within London Lady Circle is to update and send out the diary and make
sure the social meetings are arranged and organised.
outside of the London Ladies Cirle I work at QVC, am married to Kim Mikkelsen and we are planning to
stay in London for a couple of years more. We live in Vauxhall, love
playing golf, drinking lovely red wine and spend a lot of time in airports,
flying home to Denmark and visiting family and friends.

Communications Officer - Helen Keagan
I have been with the Ladies circle for two years now and have brought with me my
experience and knowledge of internet and mobile phone technology. Susan and I
share many of our tasks. I take care of the communications between members in
the form of emails and the blog site. Susan and I are looking into marketing
ideas and I help Susan out with organising events when it all gets a bit too
much for her.
